Getting to Know Your RoWrite 2
Can I use any pen with the RoWrite 2?
No, you can only use the specially designed RoWrite 2 Pen. You can purchase it from our official website (www.royole.com) and/or Amazon store.
Do I need a battery to use RoWrite 2 Pen?
The RoWrite 2 Pen is rechargeable, it does not require an extra battery - simply put it on the pen groove in the folio and it will charge automatically once the device is turned on.
Do I have to use a specific paper with my RoWrite 2?
No, you do not.. You can use any A5-sized paper on RoWrite 2.
Which devices can work with RoWrite 2?
The RoWrite 2 can work with devices running iOS 8 or later, Android 5.0 or later, Windows 10 V1803 or later, Mac OS 10.12 or later.
Notes:
1. Make sure your PC has Bluetooth compatibility and the version is 4.0 or later.
2. Not compatible with MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 16 or Macs running Windows OS.
3. Not compatible the following PCs: Dell XPS13, Dell INSPIRON 15-7570, HUAWEI MateBook Pro, ASUS VivoBook X542U, HASEE ZX7-CP5G and all Dere models.

The total weight for RoWrite 2 is 422g, the writing notebook device is 248g, the paper pads is 152g, and the RoWrite 2 Pen is 22g.

What is the type of charging port for RoWrite 2?
RoWrite 2 uses a single Type-C charging port.

The pen refill for RoWrite 2 is 59mm long. It cannot be replaced with the pen refill for RoWrite 1 which is slightly longer in length (67mm). You can purchase the pen refills from our official website (www.royole.com) and/or Amazon store.
What is the battery capacity of RoWrite 2? How long should I charge my RoWrite 2? How long can I use RoWrite 2 once charged full? What is the standby time?
The battery capacity for RoWrite 2 is 710mAh. You will need 90 minutes to charge the device to 100%. Once fully charged, RoWrite 2 can support up to 10 hours of writing, with standby time of up to 30 days.
What is the battery capacity of RoWrite 2 Pen? How long can I use the pen, and how long should I charge it?
The battery capacity for the RoWrite 2 Pen is 25mAh, you can charge it to 100% in 60 minutes. Once fully charged, the pen supports writing time up to 9 hours. Since the pen can start to charge once magnetically placed in the pen groove in the folio, it does not have a battery indicator. When the pen is charging, it flashes red light, and when the charging is completed, the green light will appear.
What is the memory size for RoWrite 2?
RoWrite 2 has a memory capacity of 16M and can save up to 50 pages. When you connect RoWrite 2 to the RoWrite app, it will sync the data to the cloud, and will release the storage on the RoWrite 2. The cloud storage is 500M.
How many sheets does each paper notepad have?
The original Royole paper notepad has 40 sheets. When you purchase RoWrite 2, two paper notepads are included in the package.
How long can I use my pen refill, how many pages can I write with one single pen refill?
Each pen refill can write up to 500 meters equivalent to 40 pages. The actual usage depends on the individual's writing habits.
Connecting RoWrite 2
My pen can not connect with my RoWrite 2, what can I do?

What if I can't see the RoWrite 2 on my smart device ?

How can I connect my RoWrite 2 with the RoWrite app?
Please make sure the Bluetooth is turned on and RoWrite 2 is connected to RoWrite app:
1. Connect RoWrite app with RoWrite 2 by pressing the Connect button on the upper right corner on the main page.
2. Search your RoWrite 2 under Settings -> RoWrite Device
I cannot connect my RoWrite 2 with the app on my device unless I turn on the Location service, why is that?
Some smartphone models require you to turn on Location services to connect due to their Bluetooth protocols.
RoWrite 2 Features
I set up a new account for RoWrite 2, can I transfer my files to the new account?
You cannot directly transfer files from one RoWrite account to another, or you can export files from your RoWrite account directly in PDF, TXT, JPEG PNG, or MP4 formats.

What can I do if the pen fails to respond on the app screen when I use it on the RoWrite 2?

I have used all my notepads, what can I do?
RoWrite 2 can use any notebook paper that is A5 size or smaller. We recommend you use papers with similar thickness as our notepads.
I cannot put my pen cap to the pen, what can I do?
You can put the pen cap in the pen groove which uses magnetic suction to keep it in place.

Are the Apps for RoWrite 1 and RoWrite 2 the same? Do I need to upgrade to RoWrite 2 App?
Yes, RoWrite 1 and RoWrite 2 use the same RoWrite app. We recommend you upgrade your app to the latest version for the best user experience.
How do the playback function work after I merge several pages?
The playback will show in the sequence of the notes chosen to be merged.

Can I trade in my RoWrite 1 for RoWrite 2?
Sorry, we do not currently offer trade-ins.

Can I write on both side of the page or single side?
RoWrite 2 doesn't support double-sided writing. It is designed for single-sided writing, and the writing area is marked by patterns on the paper.
Which languages can RoWrite app identify (OCR function)? Can it also identify special symbols?
Currently, the RoWrite app can identify up to 12 languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and more. It can also identify numbers and punctuation. You will need to download the data package of the corresponding language and select the language before identifying. Special symbols cannot be identified at this moment.
Can I change the font and color after the content is being identified after using OCR function?
No, you cannot. You may choose to export the file to edit further with a word processing application.
What factors will affect the OCR effect?
The following factors may affect the OCR results.
1. Out-of-order writing
2. Scribbling
3. Repeated strokes
4. The spacing between letters is too narrow or too wide.
Can I use OCR to identify my work while writing? Or can I use it only after I finish one page? Can I identify all the files in a folder at one time?
Yes, you can use OCR to identify your work while writing as well as after you finish one page. The app does not support OCR identification for an entire folder at one time at the moment.
Is there any delay in handwriting recognition?
Handwriting recognition is in real-time. If you experience delays, it may be caused by the amount of data being processed.
